Georgia HEART is pleased to announce that seven additional Georgia hospitals are now eligible to participate in the Georgia Rural Hospital Tax Credit Program following the enactment of Senate Bill 111. Effective July 1, 2026, the legislation expanded eligibility requirements, creating new opportunities for hospitals to receive vital funding through Georgia's Rural Hospital Tax Credit Program.
The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) has released a revised Calendar Year 2026 list of eligible Rural Hospital Organizations to reflect the expanded eligibility. The seven hospitals newly eligible to participate in the program are:
- AdventHealth Murray, Chatsworth
- Archbold Grady, Cairo
- Atrium Health Polk, Cedartown
- Chatuge Regional Hospital, Hiawassee
- Irwin County Hospital, Ocilla
- Piedmont Mountainside Hospital, Jasper
- Union General Hospital, Blairsville
"These seven hospitals provide essential healthcare services to their communities, and we are excited to welcome them back into the program, said Ben Saylor, CEO of Georgia HEART. “Their participation means more Georgia taxpayers can choose to invest in local healthcare, helping these hospitals strengthen services and continue providing quality care close to home."
Since its inception in 2017, the Georgia HEART Hospital Program has helped generate hundreds of millions of dollars for participating rural hospitals. Contributions made through the program have funded critical equipment purchases, facility improvements, expanded patient services, workforce recruitment, and other investments that improve access to healthcare throughout Georgia.
"Senate Bill 111 strengthens an already successful program by expanding its reach to additional hospitals that play a vital role in caring for Georgians," Saylor added. "We look forward to partnering with these hospitals and helping them maximize this opportunity for years to come."
